Devotional
We’re approaching Mother’s Day! But, let’s talk about fathers and children, which qualifies us to be mothers. What was Abraham’s greatest trait as a father? The quality of his fathering stems from his supreme love of God, his father! God tested Abraham by asking him to offer up his only son as a burnt offering. Abraham obeyed without hesitation or question. His love for God was greater than his love for Isaac. Mothers, we love our children, but remember they are God’s children first, on loan to us. True worship is loving God more than anything or anybody! This enables us to love ourselves and others in the right way.

Remember Hannah? She was barren and she prayed mightily for a child. God heard her prayers and allowed her to conceive. She dedicated this son back to God. After he was weaned, she took him back to the temple and left him in care of the priest. She loved God more than she loved Samuel.

We’ll love our children with a healthier and holier love when we put God first!
