Dr. Kerrick Nevels, Sr.
Pastor
Pastor Nevels is the son of Deacon Huntley and Mother Barbara Nevels and the grandson of the late Deacon R. H. and Mother Modena Hicks and Mother Hattie Williams and Hunley Leach. His Christian foundation was formed at Brooklyn Chapel Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of the late Reverend Robert L. Ingram. He had a love for work devoted to God and for many years served as church musician at churches including Brooklyn Chapel, Pink Flowers, and Allen Chapel. At Brooklyn, he also served as Youth Leader and as a Youth Sunday School teacher, helping to organize the youth activities and programs. He has served abroad sharing the gospel and distributing supplies to those in need.
Pastor Nevels received and accepted his calling to the preaching ministry in October 2005. He was licensed to preach and teach the gospel in September of 2007 and was ordained into the preaching ministry on May 12, 2013, all at Brooklyn Chapel and under the leadership of the late Reverend R.L. Ingram.
Under Pastor Nevels’ leadership, the membership at Brooklyn Chapel has increased. God is opening doors for us to expand our ministry so that we will be able to impact the community by spreading the message of Christ.
